He pursues both controlled and free form spontaneity in developing his abstract compositions. A great influence on Dicey, and in particular the recently commissioned painting Giotto's Table is Giotto's painting from the late Middle Ages. The frescoes of Giotto [di Bondone] left a lasting impression on Dicey'
